    Default Masking tape removal HELP!!!

Prob the 1st time I've posted in the detailing section.

I've masking tape on the car for almost a year.
It's split and left the sticky on the car and the paper in the bin.
Any tips or products to do this.
Obviously I can't damage the original paint.

Wd40 will take it right off, just rub on with a soft cloth.

Wd40 sounds a lot less harsh. Quick search on caramel wheels and found some real horror stories

Theres no issue if you use them with a low powered tool - like a power driver. Using them with a power drill with no speed control will remove paint rapidly though, as you would expect.

I've used them loads of times without issue - especially handy for residue from debadging. A liberal application of goo gone was doing nothing, 30 seconds with a caramel wheel and it was sorted.

I would imagine petrol might not be so good for paint?

Petrol taking it off very easy. Only reason I considered it was a guy in work had recommended it from his brother. A spray painter by trade. Only problem with it is there is no lubrication in it. So method is quick wipe with wd40 then wipe off residues with petrol.
    Remember no smoking around petrol!!

Petrol or thinners will only harm fresh paint. Once the paint fully hardenens (at least a few days after being painted maybe more) its ok. 25 yr old e30 paint should be pretty hard by now
