    Default e30mclow's Audi b5 S4

Alrighty, I figured I may as well start a thread, despite the car not being an e30, let alone a BMW.

    Engine:
    Borgwarner OEM RS4 K04 Turbos
    034 RS4 Inlets
    AWE Sidemount Intercoolers
    Hitachi MAF Sensor
    85mm ASP MAF Housing
Bosch EV 14 Injectors w/ Adapters
    034" 3" Downpipes w/ testpipes
    3" Single Catback
    Clustmasters FX400 Stage 3 Clutch
    Stern firm motor mounts
    Stern transmission mounts

    Suspension:
    Vogtland GT3 Coilovers

    Exterior:
    Oem RS4 Bumper
    Oem RS4 Grille
    Oem Valeo Ecodes
    6K HID Kit

    Interior:
    RS4 Cluster
    Full black leather (electric)
    Podi Electronic boost gauge
    AEM wideband
    JHM Derlin shift knob

This is how the story goes - I sold my lovely e34 m5 back in September…

…and have since been looking endlessly for a clean 05-06 e46 m3 6-speed, but alas – no joy. One popped up in the exact spec I wanted, but was sold in a matter of hours. I expanded the search to try and find a clean e39 m5, but even less joy was found.

I then expanded even further, to all across Canada (which is a solid 10hr flight from shore to shore) looking at ANYTHING to fix my itch for a little bit of power. I stumbled upon what appeared to be a beautiful 2000 Audi S4 in Imola Yellow (love it or hate it). The car is what’s often referred to as “Stage 3”, which hopefully means faaaast. Sadly it was sitting in Toronto.

My intent was to fly out there and take a look, but as anyone who has lived here knows – Flights are ridiculously expensive, and getting anywhere takes forever. To drive it back would have been a 3 day ordeal in winter anyway. I called the guy, and got a good vibe, and over the course of a few days I convinced myself “What can possibly go wrong?”.

I decided to nip it in the bud, and take a gamble. Money was transferred, and the car boarded a train on January 16th…risky business, the lot of it.

As per these photos, the car was on beautiful BBS LMs, but they were not in the deal.

A little bit of hunting found some Rotiform LHRs in 18X10” square, with staggered lips (2” front – 3” rear). They’re very aggressive…perhaps a little too much. They were 2 months old, and cost a whopping $6,000 new….shocking. The level of trust was stepped up yet another notch, and they were mounted in Toronto too.

*not fully down on the coils, but:

I'm trying to avoid spending money on it until I've had a chance to do a full health check, but these popped up locally…so we’ll see…hopefully it isn’t a shitbox that needs lots of work..

So, what is it like? I’ve got no idea, it still isn’t here!

I’ve started a countdown timer, as I eagerly await what will either be great fun, or a massive financial punch to the proverbial bollox.

Update - the car is currently in Winnipeg (Manitoba), which is a little bit closer.

Went to an Audi tuning specialist yesterday, here in Calgary. I'm planning to bring it to them for what's known as an Out of Province Inspection - which is a requirement when importing a car, much the same scope as the NCT.

The car is running on a base tune right now, so depending on how things look when it arrives, they're confident that they can get it to somewhere between 500-550hp, which would be nice...

    nice car , well wear.

Id swear there was one the same colour close enough to you in cappoquin a good while back, is that where you got the longing for this one.

The same fella had 2 or 3 s4's I think, always liked his cars.

He has a v12 merc now.

Jesus, that's gas, I remember that too. Same colour alright.

I think he is something to do with Flynn's Hardware, or at least it was always outside there. There was a yellow evo at one point also.

It was always my car of choice on the original Grand Tourismo.

Theres a s3 local aswell with massive money spent on it, 550bhp I think.

I know the mechanic that works on it, must ask him

    Update - in Alberta (finally)

The annoying part is that it is currently only 15minutes from my office, but because the trains here are 200+ wagons long, it'll take 2 more days to break it down to where my car is able to drive off.

    ETA is Thursday.

Should be getting a call this morning to come collect it

More nervous than excited, as it could be a bucket, and I'm very picky.

    Picked it up!

    Aaaaand...

It is by far the fastest car I've ever driven, or been in.
Spun all 4 wheels into 3rd.

Sitting back in my office now, barely able to type, the thing has scared the shite out of me lol.

    Glad to hear it.

It must be a relief that it all worked out well.
