    Default Gearbox help!!!

Well lad mate of mine has a e36 318is m44 and has a 3.15:1 LSD fitted obviously a way too long a ratio for the little m44.
So the question is since he can't find an open 3.73 to swap the crown wheel and pinion from I have heard of people using the diesel e36 gearbox any one no what the ratios are like on these? And if the 325 or 318 tds box is better?

ratios of all E36 gearboxes are more or less the same. tds box is slightly different but wouldn't be worth the effort of matching props and gear-linkages for it imo.

far easier to just change the cwp in the LSD
