I really enjoy mine, it's a very nice car to drive compared to my last e30. Less noise and more comfort, i's fine as a daily but I'm sure M3 power would be nice

I should probably start a thread on my own one some time

    --- EDIT ---

Any more info on the diff swap? I have an E30 LSD that was poorly rebuilt and needs to be taken apart to fix backlash etc, might as well put it in the e36

Yeah they are a lovely car to drive... Lots of comfort, but I still miss my e30 as a daily

Diff wise, its an e30 3.73 LSD. There was a whiney input bearing on it, so needed to be spit anyways too. So just picked up a standard open medium case diff from an e36. Have them both split at the min and gonna get Dave to set it up for me since I've no experience setting backlash/gear mesh/preloads, and would like piece of mind on it going into a road car I'm likely to sell on soon enough

For the medium case swap, Ill be changing prop and half shafts too

3.73 diff along with a lightened flywheel, should make it a very quick car off the mark! Contemplating a 6speed swap to give it a motorway gear at the top end

Gave the 36 a decent wash there monday and called over to Tesco to meet one the lads... who had also just washed his e36.
We never have both our cars clean at the same time so the occasion called for a few photos
(Realy should have polished my wheel lips)

And another e36 popped over for a look... The GT2 wings are really taking off around here

Great photos, especially the first one.

Any more of the 1552s on the black one?

Have not done a whole pile to this since... Still waiting for a free weekend to do the clutch, flywheel and swap in my new diff. Just been on and off daily driving it.

And since I only got a bit over 3 months NCT last time round, I had it in again last month. Which meant off with the throwing stars, and back on with the motor sports

Of course I had a tester who hung out of the car as best he could and he found a few faults since it past the test 3 months previous Thankfully, they were all minor, or something I had planned to do anyways...

Lolipop bushes had play in them, so in with some new Meyle HD m3 eccentric bushes. Handbrake was never much good, failed on an imbalance, so new shoes and set them up right. And a front outer balljoint had a little play (opposite one to the last NCT failed.. Knew I should have done em both ). Both are done now with Meyle HD also, so should last for a long time to come. My Vadars had to come out too as a faulty occupancy sensor was triggering the airbag light...

Other than those few bits, I got so new mint headlights in place of the horrid angel-eyes, and got some new number plates too

I went for standard font as I'm sick to death of German font... Its just done at this stage and I got no dashes or County name up top... just clean and simple

Some of my plastics needed a serious back-to-black and the tyres needed tyre-shine, so gave the car a good going over Saturday morning with the weather being so good, and went for some spirited backroad driving

Few more bits planned to do. Want to re-polish my throwing stars before they go back on... baked in brake dust doesn't go well on bare polished metal That being said, I am enjoying the motorsports at the minute. They give the car a different look and I don't have worry about rubbing arches... I call them my "drive fast wheels". Only thing I have against them is the balloon tyres up front rub on full lock turning.. previous owner put the wrong size tyres on the front, I may change them soon.

Hopefully next weekend I will go at the clutch and diff and stuff.

Motorsports look great on it. Just hard to beat what BMW intended it to be.

Thanks man. Yeah I do love the motorsports, they suit the car very well.
Though the second I have the throwing stars cleaned up, they are going straight back on it because they always win
