    Default Subframe side chassis bolts

Guys, I found that the lug on the rear trailing arm that holds the anti roll bar on has broken off. I thought a 5 min job of welding it back on again was the cure. I'm afraid not, subframe is to come out!!!

I'm down to the last four bolts that are on the side of the chassis and the Allen head is wrung. Any suggestion as to what next? If I cut these off are the brackets, plates and 6mm Allen head bolts still available?

    Cheers,
    Joe

    Hi joe .

what I do when they head runs I get a good vice grips and that usually gets them off . The inner bracket will come off when you take the big 22m nut holding on subframe off . Can get from maindealers. I have spare ones if you stuck

Cheers, I ended up cutting the heads off with a narrow blade on the grinder. BMW are looking £100 for the two push rods as they call them, two reinforcing plates and four bolts!!!

I don't see why a normal nut and bolt won't work here or get a allen bolt and nut.

Might also look into reinforcing the trailing arms and subframe while you have it out!

    Default Subframe side chassis bolts

Thanks Jozi, is there a reinforcing kit available without going to the states?

I made my own out of cut up box section.

I think one of the site sponsors does them but I've no idea on cost
