Default Hesitation, lumpy acceleration after adjusting valves

So my engine had been running fine. Very linear smooth pull right up to red line, but since the last time I adjusted the valves I have done about 8k miles and I noticed it sounded a bit more tappy than before. Performance was fine though. So in my wisdom I figured I'd adjust the valves again.

I'm adjusting to .25mm on both intake and exhaust side on a cold engine. Now it's even more tappy than before and the car hesitates and surges under acceleration. Idle is fine. I let the car rest over night and adjusted them again and still same story. So I'm either shite at adjusting valves (likely) or I should maybe use different spec for my adjustment. Engine is a m20b25.

    Any thoughts or help?

    Cheers

All sorted, redid the lot to .2 mm instead of .25 and also found cylinder 1intake ecentric adjuster was way out so must have ballsed that up yesterday. Running sweet and tight again.

They say tappets are like small children; if they're being too quiet or too loud, they're up to no good
